Ben Weiss is a New York-based writer, who recently received his MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU Tisch, where he won the Special Award Across Media for his work writing for film, television, and theatre. Ben holds a Bachelor’s in theatre from Northwestern University, where he graduated summa cum laude. His screenplay Safe Havens placed among the top 50 screenplays for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship out of over 8,100 submissions worldwide. He was a finalist for the 2021 Humanitas David and Lynn Angells Comedy Fellowship for his half-hour pilot Unpopular, while his dramatic features Thick Skin and Safe Havens were shortlisted for the Carol Mendelsohn Drama Fellowship in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Currently, he works as a writer/editor for FAIL Blog at Literally Media. Additionally, Ben writes political comedy sketches for Puppet Regime, which airs weekly on GZERO World with Ian Bremmer on PBS. Puppet Regime recently won a Telly Award for Best Online Comedy Series.
